ABOUT The Artist
Roland Putnam Burnham III brings life to his works by using traditional paint techniques to create surprising outcomes. He seeks the unexpected in life and fantasy which allows him to capture the essence of those elements in his work.
Burnham is fascinated by textures, vivid colors as well as monochromatic schemes, and hidden images. He is best known for creating and enthralling the greater Little Rock community with the lore of Balstovitch through mural-esque images over the last 40 years. Burnham is not afraid of creating abstracts and often overlaps images to create new images that tell a different story within the same piece. As an artist, he maintains a body of original works as well as accepting commissions for special pieces. Surreal fantasy landscapes are often featured in his original renderings. Burnham's repertoire includes traditional portraits, pet portraits, whimsical bowling pin portraits, indoor-and-outdoor murals, and large format paintings. |
